Holiday Card FAQs

What makes GWJ different from ordering cards through an online template?

You’re working with a real person, not just filling in a template and hoping everything looks right! I personally place your photos into the design, look at how they work with the layout, and make design suggestions when I see an opportunity to improve the finished card. Maybe a photo would look better cropped a different way, a different layout would showcase your pictures more naturally, or a color adjustment would help everything come together.

And unlike sites with endless designs and pages to scroll through, I keep the options curated so you can spend less time searching and second-guessing and more time creating a card you love. No decision fatigue from sorting through hundreds of nearly identical templates.

You bring the photos and ideas; I bring the design experience to help make them work. It’s a collaborative process, with a real person paying attention to the details.

Can I customize the design?

Absolutely! You can share your preferences for colors, wording, photos, and back-of-card layouts in the form you fill out after choosing your design. I’ll use those preferences as a starting point and make recommendations along the way. See a pattern you love but prefer the wording from another design? Just let me know in the form! The goal is a card that feels like your family, not just a template with your photos dropped in.

Do I have to purchase before seeing a proof?

Yes. During the busy holiday season, I’m no longer able to create proofs before an order is placed. Once you’ve chosen your design and completed your purchase, I’ll get to work personalizing your card.

The good news? Your purchase doesn’t mean you’re locked into every detail exactly as you first imagined it. We can work together on edits and adjustments after you see your proof to get the card looking its best. If you change your mind about a photo, color, or layout, just let me know! I want you to feel good about the card you’re sending.

When will I receive my proof?

Your digital proof will be emailed to you within 1–2 business days after I receive your photos and personalization details.

Can I request changes to my proof?

Of course! This is where the collaboration comes in. Review your proof and let me know what you'd like adjusted. Whether it’s a photo placement, color, wording, or layout, we can work through the details together before the card goes to print.

How long does printing take?

Once you approve your final proof, printing takes approximately 4–5 business days. Please allow additional time for shipping or pickup when planning your holiday cards.

What photos should I send?

Send your chosen photos in their original, highest-resolution format whenever possible. Avoid screenshots or images downloaded from social media, as these may not print as clearly. Don’t worry if you’re unsure which photos will work best together—I can take a look and make suggestions.

What can I include on the back of my card?

You can choose from options such as a year-in-review, a photo grid, or other layouts that let you share more of your family’s year. You can indicate your preference on the personalization form, and I’ll help you find a layout that works well with your photos and the amount of information you want to include. There’s an option for postcards to save on postage.

Do you offer local pickup?

Yes! If you're local to 80215 (Denver, CO area), use code DENVER for local pick-up.

When should I order my holiday cards?

The earlier, the better! Be sure to leave time for your proof, any adjustments, printing, and delivery. Ordering early gives us room to get the details right without adding more last-minute stress to your holiday season.
